Thanks to the visualisation
A real science
Visualisation is not just a personal development tool. It is a real science and can help in many situations including tension in the body.
Did you know that by visualizing with intensity you provoke brain waves that can even change your cellular memory?
It is perfectly possible, through thought and visualization, to put ourselves in a pleasant internal state to reduce stress quickly.
It all starts with relaxation. To do this, it is important to put yourself in a quiet place where you cannot be disturbed in order to relax and relieve stress.
Relaxation is the first and most important step in releasing tension.
If you can imagine it, you can do it; if you can dream it, you can become it. William Arthur Ward
Relieve tension in a few minutes
- Lie down as comfortably as possible and close your eyes (...)
- Breathe in gently through your nose Breathe out slowly through your mouth (...)
- Concentrate only on your breathing, and feel the air flowing through your body (...)
- Then mentally count down in your head from twenty to one for each cycle of your breath (...)
- Breathing in and out: 20(...)
- Breathing in and out: 19(...)
- Breathing in and out: 18(...)
- Breathing in and out: 17(...) to 0 Don't think about anything else, empty your mind to facilitate your relaxation
- Now we are going to release the tensions through visualisation (...)
- Concentrate on the sensations in your forehead, temples and face. Inhale, then hold the air for a few seconds and exhale, visualising a black, opaque smoke coming out of your mouth(...)
- Concentrate on the sensations in your neck, nape and shoulders. Inhale, then hold the air for a few seconds and exhale, visualising black, opaque smoke escaping from your mouth(...)
- Concentrate on the sensations in your chest and upper back. Inhale, then hold for a few seconds and exhale, visualising black, opaque smoke coming out of your mouth (...)
- Concentrate on the sensations in your stomach and lower back. Inhale, then hold for a few seconds and exhale, visualising black, opaque smoke coming out of your mouth (...)
- Concentrate on the sensations in your lower body, buttocks, legs and feet. Breathe in, then hold the air for a few seconds and breathe out, visualising black, opaque smoke coming out of your mouth (...)
- And when you feel ready, you can move every part of your body to wake it up and open your eyes.
Sophrology
Visualisation is one of the tools used in sophrology and it is a real asset. Why is this?
Where thought goes, energy goes. Imagination is much stronger than willpower!
The more detailed the visualisations are, the more we are connected with our positive emotional feelings, the more the brain will programme itself to live an event, felt as in our imagination.
